南京大学模式动物研究所（ModelAnimalResearchCenter,MARC）暨教育部“模式动物与疾病研究重点实验室”是南京大学集人才培养、科学研究和社会服务功能独立的教学科研机构。她坐落于钟灵毓秀、虎踞龙蟠的金陵古都，位于南京国家高技术产业开发区内，占地100亩。是我国发育生物学和遗传学的主要科学研究和人才培养基地之一，研究所已建立遗传学、发育生物学、肿瘤生物学、分子心血管学、代谢疾病和生物信息学等多个研究方向。研究所以功能基因组学和实验动物学为基本研究对象，结合小鼠、果蝇、斑马鱼、线虫等模式动物，在分子生物学、细胞生物学和整体动物等不同层次上研究基因功能、基因调控及疾病发生过程的生物学机制。
